Urban Search and Rescue (US&R) involves the location, rescue (extrication), and initial medical stabilisation of victims trapped in confined spaces. Structural collapse is most often the cause of victims being trapped, but victims may also be trapped in vehicle accidents, mines and collapsed trenches.
Urban Search and Rescue is considered a "multi-hazard" discipline, as it may be needed for a variety of emergencies or disasters, including earthquakes, hurricanes, storms and tornadoes, floods, terrorist activities, and hazardous materials releases.
The Urban Search and Rescue equipment offered by SAFCO is designed to help the rescuer(s) do their job whatever the circumstances.
Eflare Safety Beacon.
The Eflare Safety Beacon consist of high-luminosity solid state LED's rated for greater than 100,000 hour operating life and 360 degree light beam (flashing and steady-on models available)
Visible at more than one mile (two kilometers) at night and an operating life of more than 80 hours (model dependant) for each set of batteries. The E-Flare is 20cm (8”) high and weighs 0.5 kgs. Can also be supplied as emergency Helicopter Landing Zone; (HLZ Kit) in a handy set of 5 lights.
Used by many UK Airports, Motorway and Road Policing Units, Fire Services and The Queen’s Helicopter Flight.
